Paul Mitchell Neuro Smooth VS GHD

GHD Straighteners

Even though I own and have used GHD straighteners in the past I have never been a fan. Personally I think the newer models have most definitely gone downhill, considering how expensive GHD’s can be I don’t think it’s worth it.

As someone who has very fine hair I find GHD’s get a little too hot and tend to burn my hair which leaves my hair in a dry, frizzy and spilt end condition. GHD has a variety of different models so if you are a fan then I would definitely recommend to research and look at reviews beforehand as there’s nothing worse being disappointed by a new expensive product.

When GHD’s first came out everyone loved the original models as they were a simple design and they did the job. GHD now bring newer models to the market which seems to be a total disappointment, they’ve focused more on the design rather than the quality.

Paul Mitchell Neuro Smooth Straighteners

Goodbye GHD’s. I have always been a fan of Paul Mitchell products as you can probably guess by now. Thanks to Paul Mitchell there is no way I will be using GHD’s from now on. I have used these Neuro Smooth straighteners for a week now and they really are the best straighteners I have ever used. I love them! They do just what you want your hair to do and the good thing about these straighteners is that they have a temperature (– to +) adjuster meaning you can choose which temperature is best for you.

Neuro Smooth straighteners heat up to (230 degrees) maximum in just 30 seconds, they also have a customizable auto shut-off and made with premium IsoTherm titanium plates which give that smooth, shine effect on my hair.

To add a bit of volume and bounce to my hair I also use these straighteners as curlers which work so well on my hair and is really easy to do as Paul Mitchell includes a handy step to step guide when it comes to styling tips.

To flip or wave: Close the iron over the hair at the place where you wish the wave to begin and rotate the tool 180 degrees. With firm tension, slowly pull the iron through the hair clockwise all the way through the ends.

To smooth: Begin approximately 1-2 inches from the scalp on the first pass, then move closer to the scalp on the second pass.

Once curled I always finish my style by using Paul Mitchell Hot Off The Press thermal protection hairspray which is perfect for keeping those lovely curls in place. I use this as my go to hairspray, a few sprays of this and I’m good to go. This hairspray also protects hair from heat and humidity.

If you like the idea of having a straightener and a curler in one then I would recommend the Paul Mitchell Neuro Smooth straighteners. They leave your hair looking and feeling soft and smooth which is just what we need after straightening or curling. Priced at £89.95, would be a great Christmas gift. You can buy in salons or online on: HQHair, Feel Unique, Look Fantastic, All Beauty and Amazon.

Paul Mitchell is one of the few hair brands which are cruelty-free and as an animal lover I was really keen to find a cruelty-free brand that was not only good quality but effective also. I can’t wait to share the Paul Mitchell cruelty-free campaign with you all in January 2016. Stay tuned!
